The Rainford Show
The Full Story
Starting in 1980, the annual Rainford Show has brought villagers together to take part or just have a look at the skills on show and is one of the best shows of it's type in the area. There are classes for handicrafts, photography, confectionery, preserves, floral art, vegetables, fruit and flowers. There are also special classes for Rainford residents and members of the Rainford Horticultural Society, as well as for junior exhibitors and for beginners.
We are always looking for new exhibitors, so whether you are a keen gardener, part of a hobby group or just like taking photographs, why not show off your skills and take part in this years show, you may even win a prize or trophy.
The Rainford Show Classes
Everyone takes photos, whether it be holiday photos, places you have visited, people or maybe your pets, there are classes to suit everyone. So don't leave them on your computer, print off your favourite and enter the competition. Your photo will be judged by a professional photographer and voted on by the public, it's a great way to improve your photography.

Fruit and Veg
This is one of our most popular categories and certainly one of the most colourful. Shape, colour and consistency is key, or maybe you would prefer the size class were the biggest pumpkin or marrow wins the trophy.

Everyone loves the colour and beauty of flowers and this is a really eye catching category. The ability to grow a bunch of perfectly formed Dahlias or Sweet Peas , all identical to each other and to time their growth to be ready for the show takes a huge amount of preparation and skill. If this is your speciality then this is the category for you.
If card making, cross stitch or knitting is your hobby, then why not show off your creative side in one or even all the classes in our Handicraft section.
Maybe you are a member of a club or society, if so, why not get all your members to enter and have a fun competition on the side, it may help increase your membership
Whether it's baking cakes or pies, or making jam, this is the best category to judge and always very tempting for the sweet toothed among us
